Industry leaders, innovators, and regional stakeholders gathered at Nottingham Trent University’s Pavilion Building for a standout event focused on one of the most transformative forces in our economy: automation.
The Regional Importance of Automation in Manufacturing and Distribution event brought together a superb line-up of speakers from government, academia, and industry - each offering insights into how automation is reshaping productivity, workforce capability, and future competitiveness across the East Midlands.

Melanie Wheelwright, Service Manager – Economic Growth at Ashfield District Council, shared: "It was a fantastic event showcasing the ADMC and the involvement of Nottingham Trent University. The ADMC is planned to open in 2027. It will provide a real boost to Ashfield’s businesses and the region’s economy.”
