NTU is working closely with Vision West Nottingham College to provide seamless FE and HE education and training in the Ashfield and Mansfield region.
Currently, NTU has a range of engineering courses that contain elements of automation and robotics.
​​Level 4 & 5 Programmes
The following Level 4 and 5 programmes are aimed at those already working in engineering and who want to progress in their career as well as those who want to work in the engineering sector for the first time. They are provided through the NTU in Mansfield campus.
Engineering and Manufacturing - Higher Apprenticeship - Level 4
This 42-month course includes developing skills to:

Provide specialist technical support for engineers.

Gather and analyse information and data from a range of sources.

Make decisions, solve problems, and produce technical documentation and reports.

Take responsibility for the quality, safety and delivery of manufactured products or services, ensuring timely delivery to the customer at the agreed cost.

Higher National Certificate – General Engineering (Level 4).
This is a one-year course contains a module is dedicated to Automation, Robotics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Higher National Diploma - General Engineering (level 5).
This is a one-year course has dedicated modules in Advanced Manufacturing Technology and Further Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs)

Higher National Certificate
Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Level 4).
This is a one-year course contains a module is dedicated to Automation, Robotics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Higher National Diploma - Electrical and Electronic Engineering (Level 5).
This is an 18 month’s part-time course contains a module is dedicated to Further Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Higher National Certificate - Mechanical Engineering (Level 4).
This is a one-year course contains a module is dedicated to Automation, Robotics and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).

Currently NTU do not offer any higher and degree apprenticeships in Engineering. However, they are part of the Level 7 Robotics apprenticeship trailblazer group.
