Nottingham Trent University
Established in 1843, Nottingham Trent University (NTU) has a long history of unlocking potential, breaking down barriers and making a real difference to lives around the world.
With over 40,000 students and staff spanning five university sites, NTU is one of the largest and most influential higher education institutions in the country.
NTU is committed to driving forward meaningful change and it has received a wide range of prestigious awards for its research, dynamism, and innovation. It has also won many University of the Year awards in recent times including winning The Times and The Sunday Times Modern University of the Year in 2023 and the Whatuni Student Choice Awards for 2023.
NTU is committed to supporting the regeneration of the Ashfield and Mansfield areas of Nottinghamshire. They have agreed to be a strategic partner for research and teaching at the ADMC, working seamlessly with West Nottinghamshire College.
NTU will invest in a dedicated automation team, to be based at the ADMC and working alongside the ADMC’s staff. As members of the Engineering Department, their work will focus on collaborative and bespoke research and development.
NTU students will also be able to access the facilities and equipment available within the ADMC as part of their studies.
NTU are also delivering the Enterprising Ashfield project, funded from Ashfield District Council’s successful Government Towns Fund bid. This provides support to businesses, residents, and employees within the Sutton-in-Ashfield and Kirkby-in-Ashfield Towns Fund areas.
This £7.6m project (£3.8m from the Towns Fund) will run until March 2026 and will be a comprehensive, dynamic, and responsive programme, building direct access to university research, expertise, and facilities. It will provide support to enhance business productivity and improve the skills of residents and employees.
Enterprising Ashfield will offer support to businesses looking to automate, utilising its Research and Development strand.
